A book chronicling American photographer Robert Mapplethorpe’s obsession with the motif of flowers. In over 50 images taken throughout the 1980s, including in the months leading up to Mapplethorpe’s death in 1989, the photographer documents the richly symbolic flower, with a penchant for lilies, orchards, and tulips, in multiple forms, though always with a pronounced intimacy and a suggestion of corporeality.
